We have just secured a place after being on the reserve list for the Bondi 10′s which is held next Friday 4th and Saturday 5th February at Colleagues Grounds, Woollahra.

First game will kick off at 1.40pm on the Friday with 3 games played that afternoon then the remaining games will be played on the Saturday.  We are in the process of assembling a squad for the tournament and are still looking for players. The club has covered the entry fee to this tournament, so if you’re a registered player with club from 2010 you are automatically eligible for selection.  For new players to the club you will have to register and pay your fees for 2011 to be eligible for selection.

If you think you’re up for playing in the Bondi 10′s we will be having a training session tonight, Tuesday 25th January at Headen Park from 6.30pm with another session on Saturday morning to finalise our squad.

Sadly, Peter Kelly passed away suddenly on Saturday morning. The Kelly family invite all his friends and family to come together to celebrate his life.

Happy New Year and welcome to Beecorft Rugby Club to the old and new players for the 2011 Rugby World Cup Season. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dylan Schofield and I’m proud to have been appointed President of this great club for the coming 2011 season.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing committee for the outstanding job they have done in the past few years which was led under the guidance of Howard Baynie (President 2010 and 2009). The club is financially in the strongest position of it’s short history and I’d also like to give a special mention to Gregg Levett for his part as Treasurer for helping making this happen.

Pre season training will be starting next week on Wednesday 19th January at Headen Park Thornleigh at 6.30pm. We are starting a little earlier this year with pre season training to accommodate for the whole season been moved ahead by a week as the Rugby World Cup starts in September.

We have entered teams into 2 pre season 10’s tournaments. We are awaiting
confirmation on the Bondi 10’s, which starts in the afternoon on Friday 4th
February around 3pm and finishes on Saturday 5th February. Check out the
link www.bonditens.com.au. We have also entered 2 teams into the Hawksbury 10’s on Saturday 26th February. If you are a financially registered player from the 2010 season you will be eligible to be selected in these teams. We need 15 players for Bondi 10’s and 30 players for the Hawksbury 10’s. We already have quite a few interested players but we are still seeking a few more. If you are interested to play in these tournaments please contact the club at secretary@beecroftrugby.com. New players to the club are also welcome to join us but you will have to be financially registered first. I also ask that those of you who want to play in these tournaments to be at training next week no matter what the weather is doing. If you haven’t started training yet, now is the time to
get out there and start running.

We will only be having 2 trials in March before the regular season begins against Hunters Hill and a trial against Kings and Sydney Harlequins. I must say that I’m quite excited to be facing last years Kentwell Cup winners Drummoye at Drummoyne Oval in Round 1. You will see the draw has been posted for the 2011 season on our website.

We are always looking for volunteers and helpers for the club. This club is run by volunteers and if you are interested to help out in any capacity at all in the 2011 season please let me or one of the other committee members know.
