Come join us down at Headen Park from 11am 14th May to celebrate the inaugural Festival of Rugby with Beecroft Rugby Cub.

Festival of Rugby

With rain cancelling this week’s games, next week’s “Ladies’ Day” is now going to be not twice, but THREE TIMES THE EVENT in size as we triple-it-up with “Back to Beecroft Day” and early “Mother’s Day” celebrations.

The celebrations for Back to Beecroft Day/Family Day will include an acknowledgement of the contribution of Peter Kelly, recently passed, who was a Beecroft Rugby stalwart and true family man.

For Ladie’s Day, there will be:

• Free champagne and food for the ladies.

• A Ladies’ Day Marquee.

• 2 raffles with prizes including:

Pamper packs

A delicious meat tray, for those who don’t care/know what “exfoliating” is.

• Plenty of great rugby action – standard.

Make sure you come back to Penno Bowls club, just down the road, after 1st Grade, where the revelry will continue.

So gents, be sure to invite your mum, your grandma, your wife or your girlfriend, and help make Ladies’ Day/Back to Beecroft Day/Family Day a roaring success!

The Australian Wallaroos play their first test in the Women’s Rugby World Cup against Wales in London this Friday 20th August. This is the first of 3 pool games, the next against the New Zealand Black Ferns on the 24th August followed by South Africa on the 28th August, with their play off position decided from there.

Our very own physio, Monners, (Simonne Spooner), is working hard to keep them fit and well throughout the tournament.

All of the Wallaroos pool matches will be played delayed on Fox Sports 2 at 7am the morning following the match.

If you would like to send any messages of support to the girls, you can email Monners: [email protected]

It was another great win for the Beecorft first grade team, conjuring up a 30-19 victory over the previously undefeated Knox. It looked like Knox’s day winning every grade before a serious neck injury to Knox’s Stewart Orr early in the second grade game marred the remainder of the day. On behalf of Beecroft Rugby and the greater rugby community we wish Stewart a speedy recovery.
